Welcome to Healthy Waltham!

Healthy Waltham is a civic group committed to improving the quality of life for people who live, work, and learn in Waltham. Based on the Healthy Communities movement spreading across Massachusetts, Healthy Waltham embraces the principles of community involvement, shared community values, a vision for the future, and community based solutions.
Waltham established a mission for a healthier community: "To mobilize the people of Waltham regardless of neighborhood, race, class, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, age, language, and religion, to better understand our community's strengths and challenges and build a healthier, more just and prosperous community."
Healthy Waltham Priorities Healthy Waltham's community-driven activities are based on four priority areas:
To improve issues surrounding cultural diversity and inclusion;
To improve individual health status and well being;
To expand opportunities for and access to early childhood, youth, and adult education;
To increase awareness and accessibility of existing affordable housing programs and foster community-responsive land use planning.
Accomplishments 2005-2006: Healthy Waltham has initiated several successful walk initiatives including Waltham Walks!, Waltham Walks to School! and Walk and Talk with Elected Officials.
